ZAP and the Alias

I first came across ZAP several years ago when I was looking for an electric bicycle. Though I never bought an electric bike, I have stayed in tune with what Zap is up too. Zap, situated in Santa Rosa, Northern California, is a distributer of electric vehicles in the US.
Several years ago, ZAP was focused on selling electric bikes, electric bike kits, and electric scooters. Now, the electric scooters are still in the range of products sold by ZAP, but the bikes are no longer to be seen. Instead, ZAP has a line of slow moving vehicles in the passenger car and work truck range. Because these vehicles have been set to go no higher than slow speeds – I believe 25mph for all of them, these are not great road vehicles. But they could be!
What ZAP is waiting to distribute is its new high speed vehicle, the Alias. The Alias has been in the works for some time now and the top speed is going to be 75mph. For an electric vehicle that is fast. What I love about the Alias is that it does not look like a car; it looks more like a motorbike with armor.
